Lynn Peak … (or loop)

As some of you may or may not know, I am leaving for my job on Vancouver Island for the summer pretty soon. This week I wanted to do a big trek just for fun, so I have scheduled us to hike up to Lynn Peak. We will meet in the Lynn Headwaters Parking lot, by the ranger station, and hike the Lynn Loop until the trail splits off to Lynn Peak! We will allow 4- 4.5 hours for this hike, bring lunches/ snacks/ lots of water πŸ™‚

Some trekkers have prior commitments in the afternoon, or simply no desire to do that hike, so we can all leave from the same parking lot, and there will be a group just doing the Lynn Loop (1.5 hours). In the chance that we have NO takers coming up the peak with us, the leaders will re- route and join the Lynn Loop group. Otherwise, there will be 4 leaders there to hike up Lynn Peak!!

As for the summer schedule this Friday will be my last day (with the exception of May 18th) until September. Bernie, Femina, and Tracy will be taking the group on the scheduled hikes until the end of June, and then the Friday Trail Trekkers will break until the after Labour Day long weekend!

(This blog will stay alive while I am away – the other leaders will be updating it)!!!!

See you Friday!

April 20 Black Mtn

Please meet this week at Glen Eagles Rec Centre.

I have not pre- hiked the route, but we will be walking the Seaview trail then heading up Nelson Canyon to Whyte lake, and returning along the Black Mtn trail.

See you Friday!

Upper Brewis Trail

The meeting place for the hike tomorrow is on Millstream road.

If you take the Taylor Way exit and turn right heading up towards the British Properties, follow the round about at the top of the hill to the left and continue up Highland Drive. Follow Highland Drive until you turn LEFT onto Eyremount, then take a right on Milstream Road. For real this time, we turn left of Eyremount!! Same meeting place as Brother’s Creek, but a different trail!

Conditions are muddy! No snow left on the trail up there, but the melt has provided muddy conditions, gaiters welcome πŸ™‚

See you Friday!

Reminder no Rec Centre organized hike for this week, enjoy the long weekend!!
