November 2nd, 2012 – Fishermans’ Trail

Hey Trail Trekkers:

The November 2nd hike will be Fishermans’ Trail. Please meet at 9:15 at the End of the Life Cafe at the top of Lynn Valley Road. This gives the leaders a chance to collect monies owing and get a proper headcount before leaving at 9:30am.

We will follow Fishermans’ Trail, Homestead Trail to Twin Bridges and based on time and/or weather either continue towards Hyannis or head back to the cafe for coffee.

This is a moderate hike but does have steep ups and downs – please wear appropriate gear and bring poles if necessary.

Bernie will be absent but Femina and Tracy will be available to lead.

October 26th, Old Lillooet Trail

Hey Fellow Trail Trekkers:

Todays’ hike will start in the gravol parking lot at InterRiver Park and wind it’s way up past Capilano University, the cemetary and into the Seymour Demonstration Forest area.

To get to InterRiver Park follow Lillooet Road up until you see the sign “InterRiver Park” on your left and then turn and follow the road. You’ve gone too far if you pass the Equestrian Center on your left or Capilano University on your right.

This is a moderate hike – not a lot of technical footing. See you at 9:15 so we can get an accurate headcount prior to leaving at 9:30 SHARP!!!

October 19th, Old Buck Trail

Hi Everyone:

Our hike for Friday October 19th will be the Old Buck Trail led by Bernie. We will meet at 9:15am at the back of the library at the Parkgate Community Center.

This trail is a steep uphill and is graded as Moderate +. Please wear appropriate hiking gear and bring poles if needed.

Femina and Tracy will also be at the hike.

October 12th, Lynn Canyon Park

Trail Trekkers – 9:15 at the Lynn Canyon Cafe. Travel up Lynn Valley Road and turn right on Peters Road. Follow Peters Rd straight into the parking lot and make your way to the Canyon Cafe. We’ll explore the trails in the Lynn Canyon.

The route is considered moderate – steep sections, some stairs and uneven terrain. Keep your fingers crossed that the weather holds and we can explore the area in sunshine.

We leave from the Canyon Cafe promptly at 9:30 – please don’t be late.

October 5th – Dog Mountain on Seymour Mountain

Hi Trail Trekkers – our next hike is Dog Mountain. We will be meeting at the Washrooms in the Alpine Ski Area of Seymour Mountain at 9:15. The hike is scheduled to leave at 9:30 and should take approximately 2 hours.

The terrain is difficult with rooty, steep sections. Please wear appropriate hiking boots and bring your poles if required.

Your leaders will be Bernie, Femina and Tracy.
