February 1st, 2013 – Cleveland Dam, North Vancouver

Hi Trail Trekkers:

Well we’re putting away our snowshoes for a week and meeting in the parking lot at Cleveland Dam for a hike in and around the trails. As usual, we’ll meet at 9:15 so that Femina can gather $$$$ and count heads and then we’ll be off at 9:30.

Hope to see you all on trail. You should have a full contingent of leaders – Bernie, Femina, Mandi and Tracy – radios in hand.

This hike is rated as moderate as there are some steep, rooty sections. Bring poles if you need them.

January 25th, 2013 – Snowshoe Dog Mountain, Seymour Mountain

Hey Everyone:

It was great seeing a large number of Trail Trekkers out today. I understand that you’ve all been anxious for snowshoeing so here we go – 9:15 at Parkgate behind the library or 9:30 at the top of Seymour by the information board as you head over to the trailhead. We’ll probably start the snowshoe at 9:45 to allow Femina time to take attendance and collect money. We’re snowshoeing Dog Mountain with your leaders Femina, Amanda and Tracy. Bernie will not be able to attend.

Remember that snowshoers must park in the P5 designated area of the mountain or risk being ticketed/towed.

We encourage people to carpool – see you at 9:30 and keep your fingers crossed that we have a sunny, dry day.

January 18th, 2013 – Morton Creek to InterRiver Park and Loop through Hastings Creek

Hey Trail Trekkers:

We’ve had two hikes since the Christmas break and only small groups. Your leaders hope to see you at End of the Line Cafe on Friday January 18th at 9:15 for a hike down to InterRiver and back up through Hastings Creek.

We classify this as a Moderate + hike as there are steep sections and quite a bit of up and down terrain.

As usual we’ll be doing our count at 9:15 and the hike will head out at 9:30 on the dot.

Your leaders will be Bernie, Tracy, Femina and Amanda – in radio contact at all times as per usual.

See you there

PS We reikked out the hike on Tuesday and there are slippery sections especially on the boardwalks. Please come prepared – grippers are not required.
