May 3rd, 2013 – Quarry Rock, Deep Cove, North Vancouver

Hey Trail Trekkers: Start of a new schedule and we decided to take in the sights from The Rock. We’ll meet at Panorama Parking Lot at 9:15 and head up towards Quarry Rock. I’m dying for a “Honeys” chocolate donut hence there is method to my madness!!!

Your fearless leaders will be Femina and Tracy – Bernie won’t be able to accompany us this week.

See you on Friday

April 26th, 2013 – Norvan Falls, Lynn Headwaters

Hi Trail Trekkers – We’re at the end of our winter schedule and we thought it might be nice to offer a longer hike on Friday. For those who want to do the Lynn Loop or the 3rd Debris Chute you can join us at the beginning and then turn off at the appropriate time and return on a self-directed walk.

Your leaders will be heading out towards Norvan Falls. We expect the hike to be between 4-5 hours depending on conditions, numbers of participants etc.

As usual, we will meet at the last parking lot near the Ranger Station in the Lynn Headwaters. The hike gets underway at 9:30 sharp.

See you there.

April 19, 2013 – Old Buck Trail, North Vancouver – AMENDED

Hey Trail Trekkers – All good plans must be subject to change. We’re meeting at Parkgate Community Center behind the library and Bernie will lead us through the Old Buck trails. Even though I know you were all looking forward to 3 Chop I’m concerned about the creek crossing at this time as well as the weather predicted for Friday.

Old Buck is always a favorite – be advised that we may encounter some slippery sections and/or snow at the top so if you’re more comfortable please bring yak trax etc for grip.

See you at 9:15. We’ll save 3 Chop for a sunny (hopefully bug free) day. Thanks Tracy

April 12th, 2013 – Brothers Creek Area of West Vancouver

Hi Trail Trekkers – we’re meeting this Friday at the Brothers Creek Trailhead off Eyremont and Millstream at the top of the British Properties. Femina and I took to the trails this afternoon and decided that we will stay below the snowline so there is no need to bring crampons or yak traks.

The trail is muddy and lots of water so please wear appropriate footwear and bring your poles. There are a number of fallen trees and debris on the trail so we will be doing a shortened loop. The hike should take about 90 minutes.

Please arrive at 9:15 so that Femina can do her count and paperwork before we set off at 9:30.

See you then.

P.S. Please note that $$$ have changed due to the change in the HST. Adult Drop In is $6.15 and Senior Drop In is $4.87. Exact change is appreciated.
