June 26 Fishermen’s Trail

This Friday we’re meeting at the End Of The Line store, at the corner of Lynn Valley and Dempsey roads. We’ll be heading down the Fishermen’s/Homestead loop to the site of the old Twin Bridges.
This is a moderate hike with some steep sections, up and downhill.

I have been asked to pass along a safety concern: trekkers are asked to refrain from cell phone use while on the trail. A few were noticed texting while navigating the trails. Let’s try to concentrate on our footing while on the trails and not be distracted.

Please be at the End Of The Line by 9:15, we’ll take a head count,do some punching, then hit the trail at 9:30.

Looking forward to a safe, sunny hike!

June 19, meet at Carisbrooke Park.

This Friday we’ll be meeting at the north side of Carisbrooke Park at 9:15 (Carisbrooke and Lonsdale) and walking up St. Georges to the powerlines. From there, we’ll follow the St. Georges and Baden Powell trails, ending up at Carisbrooke Park again at around 11:30.
This hike is moderate, it’s straight uphill to the power lines and continues uphill once into the trails.
Please ensure you’re wearing appropriate hiking footwear and bring poles if required.
Please join us at Carisbrooke Park at 9:15 with your Flex pass, Trail Trekker punch pass, or Rec. Centre annual pass. We’ll take a head count, then hit the trail at 9:30.
See you Friday!

Friday June 12, 3 Chop!

This week we’ll be hiking the 3 Chop trail in the Mt. Seymour area.

Drive along Indian River Road past the water tower and there is a small gravel parking lot on the left hand side of the road that allows for a handful of cars. It is best if people meet at Parkgate behind the library and carpool in as parking is a challenge.
This hike is rated as difficult. Please ensure you have water and proper footwear.

Let’s be at the trail by 9:15 for a head count, we’ll set off at 9:30.

This week, Mystery Lake on Mount Seymour

This Friday June 5 we’ll be hiking to Mystery Lake on Mt. Seymour. Come prepared for an intermediate hike with some steep, rocky sections!

We’ll meet in the upper parking lot at Mt. Seymour (by the washrooms) at 9:15. After a head count, we’ll be ready to hike at 9:30. Remember to bring your passes.

Tracy, Femina and Bernie will be your leaders. See you then!
