St. Georges Trail

This Friday we’ll be meeting at the north side of Carisbrooke Park, in the 100 block of East Carisbrooke. We’ll then walk up the hill to the St. Georges Trail.

This hike is intermediate to intermediate plus with substantial elevation gain. It’s straight uphill in somewhat rough terrain to the power lines and continues uphill once into the trails before levelling off.

Make sure that you’re wearing appropriate hiking footwear and bring your poles.

Some of you may opt to meet us at the top of St. Mary’s, there’s some parking and slightly less hill to climb.

Please join us at 9:15 with your Flex pass, Trail Trekker punch pass, or Rec.Centre annual pass. We’ll take a head count, then hit the trail at 9:30.
See you Friday!

Meet at the End of the Line Store this Friday

This Friday we’ll be meeting at the End of the Line store at Lynn Valley and Dempsey Roads. We’ll hike through the Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve and follow the Fishermen’s trail along the Seymour river to the former Twin Bridges site.

Please note that there is now less parking in the Lynn Valley/Dempsey Road area and the District has imposed a two hour parking zone on much of the area streets. There is plenty of parking available in Kilmer Park in the 1600 block of Dempsey Road.

This is a moderate hike with one long uphill section near the end.

As usual we’ll meet at 9:15 and be ready to go at 9:30.
See you Friday!

Thanks to Femina for this great pic of our snowshoe to the Bowen Lookout last Friday!

One last snowshoe!

This Friday April 21, we’ll be snowshoeing the Howe Sound Crest Trail to the Bowen Lookout.

We’ll meet at the Cypress alpine area outside the old lodge (follow the Cypress Mtn. road to the top parking lot, then turn left). We’ll meet outside of the building with the washrooms.

Please be there by 9:15 with your snowshoes and poles, we’ll be ready to go at 9:30.

This is a moderate to intermediate snowshoe with some steep trails. Should take approx. 2 hours.

No hike this week!

There will no Trail Trekkers hike this Friday due to the Good Friday holiday. We hope everyone enjoys the long weekend and we look forward to seeing you next week on the 21st!

Your leaders Bev, Femina and Bernie
