Meet at Old Delbrook this Friday

This Friday, Sept. 29 we’ll be hiking the trails around Mosquito Creek to Heywood park and Pemberton Heights.

It’s an easy/moderate hike with some stairs.

Let’s meet at the old Delbrook south parking lot, where there should be plenty of parking.

Please be there at 9:15, we’ll be set to go at 9:30.

A reminder that the Trail Trekker Punch Pass is being discontinued. A good option is the Flex Pass. It’s a better deal and it enables you to take advantage of other Rec. Centre programs.

See you Friday!

Whyte Lake

This Friday Sept. 22nd, we’ll be hiking to Whyte Lake from the trailhead on Westport Road.

To get there, take exit 4 from highway 1 then turn left onto Westport Road. Go straight at the 4 way stop, then follow Westport Road under the highway until you come to a small gravel parking area on the right side.

The hike is considered intermediate with some steep sections. Proper footwear and poles are recommended.
Please be at the trailhead at 9:15 and we’ll hit the trail at 9:30, returning around 11:30.…see you then!

Lynn Loop this Friday

This Friday September 15, we’re meeting at the End Of The Line store, at the corner of Lynn Valley and Dempsey roads. We’ll be hiking the Lynn Loop via the Varley Trail through Lynn Headwaters.

This is a moderate to intermediate hike with some steep sections, up and downhill.

There is parking available in Kilmer park in the 1600 block of Dempsey, just west of Lynn Valley Road.

Please be at the End Of The Line by 9:15, we’ll take a head count, then hit the trail at 9:30.

This hike may take just slightly over two hours.
See you Friday!

Welcome back!

Hope everyone had a great Summer!

For our first Fall hike, this Friday Sept. 8, we’ll be meeting in the Hollyburn Mtn parking lot near the kiosk (take the road to Cypress Mtn., then turn right towards towards the Cross Country area).

Please be there by 9:15, we’ll take a head count, then set off towards Blue Gentian Lake.

The hike will leave promptly at 9:30, and should take about 2 hours. It’s an intermediate hike with some rooty, steep sections. Proper footwear is required.
