Change of plan for this Friday!!

Due to snow and ice on the mountain trails, we’ve changed our plans for this Friday. We’ll now be hiking the trails in the Capilano Canyon.

Please be at the eastern end of Keith Road in West Van.(go east from Taylor Way, meet under the Hwy.1 overpass) by 9:15, then we’ll head up the Capilano Pacific Trail through Capilano Canyon towards Cleveland Dam.

This is an easy hike that should take approximately 2 hours.
See you there!

Follow Chartwell to the top….where it meets Eyremount and Millstream

This Friday’s (June 23) hike is in the Brothers’Creek/Lawson Creek area. We’re meeting at the trailhead at the top of Chartwell, where it meets Eyremount and Millstream in the British Properties. Car pooling might be a good idea, as parking is limited.

This is considered an intermediate hike with some steep sections and rooty, rocky areas with possible tricky footing and creek crossings.

Please wear appropriate footwear and bring your poles.

Meet your leaders at 9:15 with your passes, we’ll take a count before setting off at 9:30.

The hike will take approximately 2 hours.

Regarding the Trail Trekker punch pass…it is still available at Delbrook but staff felt that the Flex pass gives more flexibility and can be easily traced if lost. We’re told that staff at Delbrook will ensure that some punch passes are printed up and laminated.

See you Friday!

Lynn Canyon this Friday

This Friday we’ll be exploring the trails in and around Lynn Canyon.

Please be there by 9:15 so we can check passes and count hikers. We’ll be ready to hike at 9:30.

This hike is rated moderate, be prepared for several stairs.

….see you Friday!

Richard Juryn / Old Lillooet Loop

To get there, take Lillooet Road up the hill past the exit for Capilano University, then turn left at the Inter River Park sign (before the stables). Turn left again for the lower parking lot.

There’s plenty of parking in the lower parking lot, look for your leaders there.
We’ll meet at 9:15 and be ready to hike at 9:30.

This is a moderate hike with some rooty sections. Some places may be muddy if it has rained. We should be back at the parking lot by 11:30.

Turn right at the third street on your right called Woodgreen Place.

The gravel driveway at the end of the street leads to the parking lot and the trailhead.

This is a moderate to intermediate hike with some steep uphill sections.

This is a moderate to intermediate hike with some steep sections, up and downhill.

The road to Lynn Headwaters Park is now closed to vehicular traffic, making parking less available in the area. As well, the District has imposed a two hour parking zone on Dempsey Road.
