Richard Juryn / Old Lillooet Loop

This Friday June 9, we’ll explore the Richard Juryn/Old Lillooet Loop. Meet at the trail head, near the washrooms at Inter-River Park.

To get there, take Lillooet Road up the hill past the exit for Capilano University, then turn left at the Inter River Park sign (before the stables). Turn left again for the lower parking lot.

There’s plenty of parking in the lower parking lot, look for your leaders there.
We’ll meet at 9:15 and be ready to hike at 9:30.

This is a moderate hike with some rooty sections. Some places may be muddy if it has rained. We should be back at the parking lot by 11:30.

Schedule change for this Friday!!

There’s still a lot of snow on Seymour, so we’ve decided to change our scheduled hike. We’ll now be hiking the Old Buck Trail. We’ll meet behind the library at Parkgate Shopping Centre at 9:15 (turn left at Banff Court off Mt.Seymour Road),then be ready to start hiking at 9:30.

This is an intermediate hike, there are some steep sections….(only uphill halfway!).
Please wear appropriate footwear, bring poles if you’d like.

The hike should take about 2 hours.

May 26 Cypress Falls

This Friday May 26, we’re hiking in Cypress Falls Park.

To get to the Cypress Falls Trail, head along Highway 1 and take Exit 4 to Woodgreen Drive / Caulfield Drive. At the stop sign, turn right onto Woodgreen Drive and continue as the road bends to the left and heads uphill.
Turn right at the third street on your right called Woodgreen Place.

The gravel driveway at the end of the street leads to the parking lot and the trailhead.

This is a moderate to intermediate hike with some steep uphill sections.
Please arrive by 9:15 to allow us to take a head count.

The hike will commence at 9:30 and should take about 2 hours.

Lynn Loop this Friday!

This Friday May 19, we’re meeting at the End Of The Line store, at the corner of Lynn Valley and Dempsey roads. We’ll be hiking the Lynn Loop via the Varley Trail through Lynn Headwaters.
This is a moderate to intermediate hike with some steep sections, up and downhill.

The road to Lynn Headwaters Park is now closed to vehicular traffic, making parking less available in the area. As well,the District has imposed a two hour parking zone on Dempsey Road.

There should be plenty of parking available in Kilmer park in the 1600 block of Dempsey.

Please be at the End Of The Line by 9:15, we’ll take a head count, then hit the trail at 9:30.

This hike may take just slightly over two hours.

Lighthouse Park

This Friday May 12, we’ll be exploring the trails at Lighthouse Park in West Vancouver. It’s an easy to moderate hike with some rooty sections, hopefully some nice ocean views too!

To get there, follow Marine Drive in West Vancouver to Beacon Lane. Turn left at the sign marked “Lighthouse Park”, then follow Beacon Lane south to the parking lot.

As usual we’ll meet at 9:15 and start hiking at 9:30.

St. Georges Trail

This Friday we’ll be meeting at the north side of Carisbrooke Park, in the 100 block of East Carisbrooke. We’ll then walk up the hill to the St. Georges Trail.

This hike is intermediate to intermediate plus with substantial elevation gain. It’s straight uphill in somewhat rough terrain to the power lines and continues uphill once into the trails before levelling off.

Make sure that you’re wearing appropriate hiking footwear and bring your poles.

Some of you may opt to meet us at the top of St. Mary’s, there’s some parking and slightly less hill to climb.

Please join us at 9:15 with your Flex pass, Trail Trekker punch pass, or Rec.Centre annual pass. We’ll take a head count, then hit the trail at 9:30.

Meet at the End of the Line Store this Friday

This Friday we’ll be meeting at the End of the Line store at Lynn Valley and Dempsey Roads. We’ll hike through the Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve and follow the Fishermen’s trail along the Seymour river to the former Twin Bridges site.

Please note that there is now less parking in the Lynn Valley/Dempsey Road area and the District has imposed a two hour parking zone on much of the area streets. There is plenty of parking available in Kilmer Park in the 1600 block of Dempsey Road.

This is a moderate hike with one long uphill section near the end.

As usual we’ll meet at 9:15 and be ready to go at 9:30.
